Sustainable Hamilton Burlington has been able to thrive for almost 10 years as a result of the many amazing, passionate and committed people that have given their time and their expertise to this important cause.
Starting with our launch in June, 2011, we have always been blessed with a board of directors who are passionate about building better communities by promoting a better, more responsible way of doing business. These are community leaders in academia and across a range of industry sectors.
The community has been invited in since Day One to help design a program that not only meets the needs of business, but that will help address some of our region’s most urgent environmental, social and economic issues. Collaboration is part of our DNA, as we understand that wicked problems like climate change require us all to work together.
Our staff are second to none: they have that rare combination of scientific expertise and business acumen, combined with a burning desire to make a positive difference.
Volunteers have come and gone over the years, and SHB has been a launch-pad for many young people to land sustainability careers in industry and government. They’ve all contributed to our growth, and our ability to be a force for sustainable business, and a more sustainable community.
